Rights relating to religions: Burma’s 1948 Constitution guarantees freedom of religions, non religious discrimination.
Union of Burma’s original constitution of 1947 illegalises religious discrimination and persecution. In sharp contrast, today Myanmar condones and legalises religious discrimination by the enactment of 4 racist law. Even during the pre-colonial feudal times, there was religious freedom. So, the country has moved backwards for centuries. As a matter of fact, Pagan (AD 800 – AD 1278) was far more multiculturalist than Myanmar in 2017.
