First I thought that he is here due to the circumstances…but now I realized that I was wrong.
Ko Ko Gyi When I came to Malaysia in 1986, there was a severe recession and gov ordered not to appoint any replacement for even the posts of retired, died or resigned. Cabinet members reduced their own salaries. I applied nearly 100 places but got about 35 reject letters. I photocopied those 35 reject letters and wrote a farewell letter to the PERKIM (First PM Tuanku Abd Rahman was chairman) DG…he came to my house (actually Dr MMHnin’s house) on the evening of Lailatul Kadir night to tell me that he will appoint me as a MO and to enter back Malaysia.
