Thank You Former Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Musa Hassan for the revelation of the already known secret.
Since 1986, I was being an active Democracy, Human Rights and Muslims’ Equal Rights Activist writing extensively with numerous pseudonyms in PERKIM, RISEAP, some Malay newspapers, FEER (Far Eastern Economic Review, Asia Week, Burma Digest, Dr. San Oo Aung WordPress Blog etc. To name some of the secrect Pen names: Dr San Oo Aung, Bo Aung Din, Dr Aung, Dr Zafar Shah, Maulana Hafiz Abdullah, Mahar Bandula, Ohn Kyaw Myint, Shwe Ba, Ko Tin Maung, Tun Aung, Ko Tin Nwe, DARZ_KKG etc.
But one day I was shocked and sad because the Myanmar Ambassador at that time told me to be careful as Malaysian Police had given the list of identities of Myanmar bloggers active in Malaysia and my name was included in that list. I was sad that Muslim dominant authority was helping the anti-Muslim country to act on Muslim Activists. But I just prayed to Allah swt for protection and safety as I am not doing these for my selfish profit but for the sake of downtrodden Muslims back home.
While secretly writing as an activist, I used to maintain a very cordial relation with Myanmar Embassy and Myanmar Military Attache’ offices. From the Ambassador to tall he staffs’ families used to visit our house and clinic and we also visited them frequently. I was elated acting like Bo Aung Din (Myanmar classic movie.)
That is the blessing in disguise for me. I stopped using all those secret Pen names and start using my real name Dr. Ko Ko Gyi @ Abdul Rahman to open a FB Account and WordPress Blog. I tried to reclaim successfully the credit of my long history of opposing the successive Myanmar Military Governments from General Ne Win, SPDC, Na Wa Ta, Na Ah Pha, USDP up to the hybrid government of NLD.
According to the FB of Malaysiakini published on 6 Jul 2016, 6:13 pm …Former inspector-general of police Musa Hassan said all enforcement agencies had close ties and share information with their foreign counterparts.
“There’s nothing wrong with that. Such relations have long (been established).”
He said whoever made the police report may not have understood international cooperation between enforcement agencies.
